DART Project “Development of novel mRNA delivery systems for vaccine applications.”

The project aims to “develop new mRNA delivery systems for vaccine applications”. The objective is to create mRNA delivery systems based on ionizable, biocompatible and innovative polymers, as an alternative to the lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) currently used in RNA vaccines. The goal is to obtain a new mRNA vaccine formulation that is more effective, more stable, better tolerated and less reactogenic than the lipid nanoparticles used in current COVID-19 vaccines. The polymers will be synthesized, formulated with mRNA as polymeric or lipopolymeric nanoparticles, and tested in a vaccine model.
