We're delighted to share insights from a recent study entitled "A distinct antigen presentation pathway drives potent T cell immunity in lipid nanoparticle–based mRNA vaccines" published in Science Advances by Ryunosuke Muro et al.

They identified an unconventional antigen presentation pathway driven by migratory type 2 conventional dendritic cells (cDC2) that triggers exceptionally strong and durable T cell responses. This research explains why mRNA-LNP formulations are so effective compared to traditional adjuvants, revealing that they don't even require the traditional cross-presentation pathway to achieve superior immunity.

Our modified mRNA was used to encode the model antigens (OVA and GFP) necessary to track and measure these potent immune responses with high precision.
